What are microstocks and how are they organized?
Microstocks (photo banks) are specialized internet shops, which are engaged in selling of vector, raster and 3D illustrations, photographs and video clips. It depends on particular photo bank. System is following: every registered user can place any his work on microstocks. After loading to a photo bank, the work is checking by staff. If quality is satisfied, the work comes to your portfolio, then photo bank sells it. For those, who don’t know, portfolio is archives of your works. Then you just have to wait accumulation of minimal (out coming) amount of money (as a rule, it is 100$). After accumulation money come to indicated internet-purse. Different photo banks have their details (we will discuss them later), but this system is common. We will work exceptionally with anglofono ones, they are the most profitable. You can work for one particular photo bank, or with few banks simultaneously. If you work exclusively, fees are bigger, but you can’t load works to other banks. Advantages and disadvantages are everywhere.
Also any registered user can buy every illustration. Why are photo banks profitable? Prices are low for buyers and they can find almost everything what they are looking for. For any organization is cheaper to buy photograph or picture from microstock than to hire photographer or artist. For authors it’s convenient because they don’t have to care about selling – professionals do it instead of you. And you can draw new works, increasing income. Photo banks in their turn have interest for their work.
So, system is simple – you draw, load and take money
